10 Halloween Events in Phoenix for Spooky Festive Fun

There’s plenty of spooky fun to be had all around Phoenix! From cult classic films to haunted ghost tours, we came up with 10 ghoulish events you don’t want to miss!

PoeFest

  • Where: Hotel San Carlos and The Rosson House
  • When: Friday, October 20, through Tuesday, October 31
  • How Much: Admission is $10. Passes covering every performance are also available for $49.95 to $79.95.
  • What: What’s spookier than the words of Edgar Allan Poe? Scenes from some of his stories like The Cask of Amontillado, The Premature Burial, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Masque of the Red Death will be acted out by performers who will portray inmates of a Victorian-era insane asylum.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

  • Where: Alamo Drafthouse in Chandler
  • When: Saturday, October 21
  • How Much: Tickets are $14 (and include swag!)
  • What: You can’t do Halloween without seeing this classic cult film! Luckily the Alamo Drafthouse in Chandler has got you covered. Of course there will be all the usual activities of a Rock Horror screening so make sure you get ready to time warp! 

Kabarett: Bizarre Noir

  • Where: Valley Bar
  • When: Thursday, October 26
  • How Much: Admission is $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
  • What: A spooky music show that’s described as a “weird show for the witching season.” It includes a whole bunch of  Halloween-themed songs, scary tales, covers of film scores, and other sounds that go hand in hand with some classic horror movies!

F.A.B.R.I.C. Halloween Masquerade Ball

  • Where: F.A.B.R.I.C. in Tempe
  • When: Saturday, October 21
  • How Much: General admission is $20, VIP access is $100.
  • What: Find your next Halloween costume by attending a Halloween themed fashion show. Sponsored by Yandy, there will be costumed performers, live music, drinks and fashion vendors.

A Vampire Tale

  • Where: Phoenix Theatre
  • When: Thursday, October 26, through Saturday, November 4
  • How Much: Tickets are $25
  • What: Scary and sensual, this show is about an innocent who is led down a dark path into the world of vampires. It’s called a “graceful array of talented performers executing modern dance moves and arresting aerial maneuvers are a part of the production”

Salt River Fields Balloon Spooktacular

  • Where: Salt River Fields in Scottsdale
  • When: Friday, October 27, and Saturday, October 28
  • How Much: General admission is $15. Admission for kids 3 to 12 is $10, and children 2 and under get in free.
  • What: The night sky will light up with over 20 hot air balloons and firework displays (though not at the same time don’t worry) There will be plenty of things to do: a haunted trail, trick or treating, and a hot air balloon ride!

Cave Creek Wicked

  • Where: Downtown Cave Creek
  • When: Saturday, October 28
  • How Much: Free!
  • What: During the day, it will be totally family friendly with Halloween inspired things like: a pet costume contest, arts and craft demos, and costumed bike ride! But when the sun goes down, the spooks begin: a bar crawl begins at 7pm with stops at haunting locations, costume contests and other fun things!

Howl-O-Ween!

  • Where: Phoenix Zoo
  • When: Friday, October 27, and Saturday, October 28
  • How Much: $9.95 for zoo members, $12.95 for the general public.
  • What: The zoo will transform into a spooky Halloween wonderland for those of all ages! There’s scary events and merry events, that include: haunted houses, psychic reads, animal graveyards and a dance party!

Phoenix Zombie Walk 9

  • Where: Downtown Phoenix Warehouse District
  • When: Saturday, October 28
  • How Much: General admission is $10; children 12 and younger get in free.
  • What: This walk is a staple in the Valley! It’s got hundreds of zombies making their way downtown, walking sorta kinda slow actually. But other than zombies, this event has live entertainment, music, food trucks, a “zombification station,” kid zone, and costume contest!

Haunted Phoenix Bus Tour

  • Where: Downtown Phoenix
  • When: Saturday, October 28
  • How Much: $30 for the 3 to 5 p.m. tour and $35 for the 5 to 7 p.m. tour.
  • What: Learn about some ghost stories that have haunted the Valley for years. This bus tour will take you around haunted hotels and other seemingly spooky spots in downtown Phoenix.
