Why: From the espresso served during the morning at the market, to the luxurious weekend brunch, Olive & Ivy satisfies your taste buds. They have an incredible outdoor patio for dining in the sunshine or in the moonlight. Check out their happy hour from 3pm-6pm, Monday-Friday, in the bar and lounge.
Must Try: Red Sangria at dinner; cinnamon French toast at Brunch; lamb meatballs at happy hour; grilled asparagus bruschetta.
Union Barrelhouse
Where: 3636 N. Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale AZ 85251
What: nano-brewery serving up great beers & ales with amazing American food
Why: They have specials every single day of the week! Happy hour is every day from 3pm-7pm. $10 malts and melts on Tuesdays. ½ off bottles of wine & whiskey drinks on Wednesday. ½ off local draft beers on Mondays. Every Saturday & Sunday there is a killer brunch from 10am-3pm with kids eating free every Sunday!
Must Try: For brunch, you must have the waffle battered chicken sandwich – don’t ask questions. Our two favorite starters are the liberty fondue and the chophouse gravy fries. The Sergeant Pepper Sandwich Melt is to die for.
Bandera:
Where: 3821 N. Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85251
What: American comfort food
Why: see above – “American comfort food” – large portions, hearty meals and amazing flavors! Where else can you get authentic Carolina style BBQ beef ribs in Arizona?
Must Try: signature rotisserie chicken, the tasty Macho salad for the guest looking to get their veggies and of course, banana cream pie for desert! Yum!
Eddie’s House
Where: 7042 E. Indian School Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85251
What: global comfort food
Why: sit out on their comfortable patio during happy hour or over dinner and enjoy the beautiful weather we have in Scottsdale year-round. They have a selection of seafood dishes and there are world flavors on every plate.
Must Try: Bacon Infused meatloaf – it is unlike any other meatloaf you’ve tasted in your entire life! Two of their best appetizers are the Mo’Rockin Shrimp and the mint pesto grilled lamb chops. The East-Meets-West Sesame Tuna and Parmesan Halibut is another favorite entrée.
Salty Senorita
Where: 3748 N. Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85251
What: modern cantina with a relaxed feel and great Mexican food
Why: There’s happy hour 7 days a week from 3pm-7pm with specials on food and drinks. Pacificos are only $2.99 every night from 8pm-close. They’ve also got weekend brunch, lunch specials and a kids menu.
Must Try: Sweet Jalapeno Tacos and the Shrimp Shack Tacos are some of our favorites. If you go for brunch get the Hangover Plate or the Sunrise Torta. We’re also crazy about Chicken Tinga Burrito Bowl. The cucumber watermelon margarita will wash your meal down perfectly.
